Zach Pierce is an emerging producer that believes access to a broad variety of art and theatre are key to the continuing development of the regional towns and cities. Born and raised in Bolton and now based in York, Zach has had access to high quality, regional theatre throughout his formative years. Having previously worked at the Octagon, Bolton, as a Front of House Assistant, Zach now works as Events Producer at York Theatre Royal, managing a delegated, contribution-based space and the programme of work within it.
During his time studying on the University of York’s Theatre: Writing, Directing and Performance course, Zach engaged with York Theatre Royal’s artist development programme for young people producing the 2018 incarnation of the internationally- recognised TakeOver Festival. Through this a deep-rooted passion for small-scale, experimental, largely studio-based art, and the process through which artists make this work, was developed. As a Producer Zach ensures that all artists are supported in the best way they can be, either through research and development processes or through subverting the meaning of small-scale, the result of which is a deeper layer to all work performed.
