Ross Hayward is a lighting designer, re-lighter and technical manager based in London.

He holds a BA in Theatre from the University of York and is particularly interested in the artistry and agency of light, darkness, and atmosphere in performance.
 

Alongside his design practice, Ross also contributes to education in lighting and technical theatre at secondary-school level.

He is an associate artist with visual-theatre company Theatre Re.

 

Recent and ongoing work includes the UK and International tours of Theatre Re’s The Nature of Forgetting and BIRTH, Young Pleasance’s Ghost Light (2025), and curious directive’s Gastronomic (2023).
